Hillary is now an illness?

Look at this evil crap in today's Houston Chronicle:

The Cancer That Is Hillary Clinton
Posted 5/24/2008 6:32 AM CDT

As a follow-up to yesterday's post on Hillary Clinton's remarks in South Dakota in which she referenced the assassination of Bobby Kennedy, I was appalled at the number of people who left comments excusing her comments as the result of fatigue or just an unfortunate choice of words.

blah blah

The superdelegates need to convene NOW, not May 31 or June 3, TODAY. They need to throw their unanimous support behind Barack Obama as the Democratic nominee and put and end to this process NOW. They must rid their Party of the cancer that is Hillary Clinton before it spreads any further. Not just for the good of the Democratic Party, but for the country as a whole.

That stuff is a bit much, but HRC is definitely losing it. This is the much vaunted ready on day one, 35 years of experience at work? The gutter racialist appeals, and now the assassination talk, just prove that the vetting of HRC hadn't in fact occurred - and thank God it finally did before the party made the mistake of asking her to join the ticket...It's time for Obama to choose a progressive woman as a running mate and remind the world that there are actually other Democratic women doing competent, skilled work every day - and they're doing it without the embarrassment of gutter politics.

dude,

I think you should remove the word cancer and think about what a word like that means and means to men and women who either have cancer or are in remission.

And here I thought it'd be a reference to mental illness.....

"one of the immutable laws of politics is that trailing presidential candidates who use the word "assassinated" in the answer to the question "why are you still in the race" don't get to be vice president."

I don't think most observers believe Hillary wanted the VP in the first place.  Guess what, though?  Obama still has to find a way to consolidate the party, and that means making some sort of concessions to Hillary.  You'll just have to deal with that.

Where is that written? I don't consider TPM an authority. Besides, who's running for VICE president?

Every diary like this one, every editorial like the one referenced, every sexist remark on every cable network, every blog and in every newspaper justs deepend the wedge between Hillary supporters and Obama supporters. If you are trying to guarantee a large defection of Hillary voters to McCain, I commend your efforts. You're all doing a great job.

One thing though, when the returns come in in November and the hand-wringing begins, you'll be content to blame the whole thing on Hillary. I suggest that a look in the mirror might be more appropriate.

Re: Hillary is now an illness? (none / 0)

If every Clinton supporter who frequents MyDD were to vote for McCain in the GE to pay back the "misogynist troll Obamabots" who have offended their sensibilities, how many Electoral votes will shift?

Such threats are not frightening.

She's the bitter medicine for the country that is good and to which there is no alternative.  But the whiners are throwing their tantrum.

Um. Hello. This is a blog entry. (none / 0)

Not an article in the Houston Chronicle. I disagree with the bloggers use of a disease, but agree with his sentiment that this should end now.
